Not Really My Style

I’ve got to be honest and say that I couldn’t really see the point of all these “Facebook” type websites. However, as I spend a fair amount of time on the web, in pursuit of the answer to all sorts of things, the sharing of information helps us all.

Anyway “Facebook” and similar didn’t really do what I was looking for so I decided I’d get a blog site, which didn’t do what I was looking for either. So in the end I found a free template and started creating a site.

I quickly found that having to write everything down in HTML got fairly tedious and started looking for something else.

I’d heard a lot about some of the open source products available and decided WordPress would be ideal, got a hosting company that could support it, registered the domain and off we go again.

A little bit about me

I’m a computer consultant working through my own company Elitemicro Ltd and specialising in the infrastructure management of mid to large organisations. Enough about work through, this site isn’t for that.

In my spare time I’ve a number of things I like to get up to. I’m a bit of a petrol head, anything with an engine is fine by me, and generally the bigger and faster the better .

I’m also really into anything that gets me out into the mountains and outdoors. Mix a trip into the middle of nowhere with my Land Rover and some time wild camping and topping out on nearby peaks and that’s my idea of heaven.

As I should have started this site about 5 years ago I’ve got a fair bit of catching up to do. I’ll slowly be going back and creating a log of the things we’ve been doing.
